7- Binge Watching
Binge Watching
In the 2000s Binge Watching was very popular. There were many hit movies and shows that aired out such as Martin, My Wife and Kids, A Thin Line Between Love and and Hate, The Best Man, Love and Basketball and so much more. TV used to really be interesting and globally impactful in those time. There was also the best kid channels such as Disney, Nick-a-loadin, PBS Kids and much more.
I personally had the best times while binge watching movies from the late, late 1900s and the early 2000s. In 2016 that is when Social media had a bigger influence on the world than ever before. So many people were on IG, Facebook, Snapchat, Kik, Dubsmash, TikTok and plenty more social platforms. I would rarely see people watch TV anymore. I remember various individuals telling me that they don't even watch tv.
When the terrible break out hit, COVID-19, Binge watching became more reliable again. Many people spent days binge watching their favorite tv shows, and movie collections. While everyone was on lock down there wasn't much to do but binge watch tv, play board or card games, and do in the house activities.
Reports show that during the COVID breakout streaming platforms skyrocketed. The marketing profits had increased tremendously from 2016 to 2020. If you ever noticed, COVID changed a lot of things that most people wouldn't pay attention to. For example, after all the money was given to families for the breakout everything in the economy increased in pay including the streaming sites. Sites like Hulu, Netflix, HBO Max, and BET had increased their prices for what they say are better accesses. If you pay for good streaming services than you will receive good productions to watch.
Having Amazon Prime or Apple Tv is all cool until you scroll upon a movie that you have been dying to see and click it but can't watch it without having Plus. The difference in todays binge watching than back in the day binge watching is that you pay for less profitable movies and shows.
Honestly, I would love if TV could be the way it used to be. We had better channels with better movies and shows and it was at a reasonable price. Now we have to pay double for older movies and the not so good movies of today.
