Walt Disney Theme Parks
The Walt Disney Company is an American multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate that is headquartered at the The Walt Disney Studios complex in Burbank, California. Disney was founded on October 16, 1923, by Walt Disney and Roy Disney. The brothers originally named it Walt Disney Studios and Productions, but they decided to call in The Walt Disney Company in 1986.
In 1928, Disney established itself as a leader in the animation industry with the short film steamboat Willie. The film became the first cartoon to produce sound and popularized Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse became Disney's mascot and corporate icon and has been since. After becoming a major success outlet, Disney expanded into live-action films, television, and theme parks in the 1950s. However after Walt Disney's death in 1966, the company started to decline. After two new CEOs the company finally began to increase again after newly featured international theme parks and the expand of entertainment with Marvel Studios.
Disney's other main business units include divisions in television, broadcasting, streaming media, theme park resorts, consumer products, publishing, and international operations. Amongst those division Disney owns and operates many other streaming networks such as ABC, Disney Channel, ESPN, FX, Disney+, Hulu and so much more.
